Morningside is the oldest of several pre-existing subdivisions that were officially grouped together as Morningside/Lenox Park in the 1930s. Development of the neighborhood began in the 1920s, with many homes remaining from this period. The architecture lining Morningside’s idyllic tree-lined streets includes Craftsman bungalows, American Foursquares, and Tudor Revival homes. Other properties include stunning contemporary custom-builds and modern apartments and condominiums with outstanding views of the Atlanta skyline.

Whiskey Bird draws on diverse international influences for a menu combining Japanese-style yakitori and Asian-accented New American main dishes with starters such as gyoza tacos and spicy Korean queso blanco. The drinks menu is just as eclectic, with the whiskey selection including Kentucky ryes and bourbons and Scottish and Japanese single malts. Doc Chey’s Noodle House takes a similarly open-minded approach to its Asian fusion cuisine, offering delicious tacos, dim sum, and noodle dishes. Morningside also has a year-round farmers’ market each Saturday morning, where local vendors sell certified organic produce and boutique handicrafts. Other local favorites include the health-conscious Kale Me Crazy superfoods café, and craft beer and Southern comfort food specialists The Family Dog

Piedmont Avenue runs along the northeastern boundary of the Morningside/Lenox Park neighborhood and has many places to shop and dine. Located alongside the neighborhood’s Piedmont Avenue boundary with Piedmont Heights, Ansley Mall offers amenities including an LA Fitness Gym and a Publix supermarket. At the southern boundary of Morningside/Lenox Park, D.B.A. Barbecue is a casual spot offering delicious food and 20 local beers on draft.
